  Holly Armstrong, Program Director

Holly ArmstrongHolly Armstrong leads our efforts on oil and gas issues within the Energy Development team.  Throughout more than 15 years in government and political communications, she worked with elected leaders, candidates for political office and business to create pro-active communications plans and protocols.  Prior to working with Resource Media, she worked for the Democratic National Convention, Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire, Oregon Gov. Ted Kulongoski, U.S. Rep. David Wu, U.S. Sen. John Kerry and the Oregon State Accident Insurance Fund.  Gov. Gregoire was named &ldquoPublic Official of the Year&rdquo by Governing Magazine while Holly served as communications director. Liz Banse, Associate Director

nullA veteran of Resource Media's Seattle office since 1999, Liz leads our Oceans and Public Health teams where she provides overall management and sets strategic direction for projects. During her tenure at Resource Media Liz has developed communications plans for nonprofits across a wide spectrum of issue areas and orchestrated communications strategy and media outreach on policy and consumer-based campaigns on leading environmental concerns from pesticides and water quality to toxics in cleaning products to cleaning up Puget Sound. Her practice areas span all aspects of communications planning, media strategy and outreach, public opinion research, message development, branding, materials development and production, organizational marketing and crisis communications. She is also adept in deploying digital/social media strategies and conducting outreach to bloggers. Prior to joining Resource Media, Liz worked as a Senior Account Executive at the public relations firm, MWW/Savitt. She also has worked for several nonprofit organizations and volunteered extensively on political campaigns at the city and state level.  Këri Bolding, Vice President, Energy and Climate

Keri Këri sets the strategic direction for and oversees Resource Media's work in the energy and climate areas. Këri has extensive experience in the energy and climate fields, most recently serving as the Senior Communications Advisor for the California Public Utilities Commission promoting the state's global leadership on clean energy climate policy. Këri brings deep expertise in energy efficiency, green power marketing, utilities, transmission and climate policy. She has travelled extensively both nationally and internationally to build partnerships and dialogue to advance clean energy, energy efficiency and policies to reduce emissions. Prior to her work with the California PUC, she helped build the nation's voluntary renewable energy  power market as the Director of Business and Promotional Services at the Center for Resource Solutions. Over seven years, she provided the marketing and communication oversight for Green-e, the nation's leading independent consumer protection program for the sale of renewable energy and greenhouse gas reductions in the retail market, and other organizational efforts. A Stanford Graduate of Communications, Këri has spent over a decade in the field, putting communications fundamentals to work for energy organizations, agencies, corporations, start-ups and nonprofit organizations. Jessica Brand, Program Director

Jessica Brand joined our Washington DC-based Climate Team in June 2011 as a Program Director. Originally from the UK, Jessica worked for two years running the Westminster office of a member of Parliament, covering communications, lobby visits and overseeing a reelection campaign. After moving to the U.S., Jessica worked for Defenders of Wildlife, first as a Communications Associate overseeing legislative and international issues, and helping to recruit and manage allied voices in Defenders&rsquo Alaska campaigns. She then joined the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund, where she helped to manage political campaigns during two election cycles, supporting environmentally-friendly candidates and helping to defeat several anti-environmental candidates. Jeff Cappella, Senior Program Director

After two years living and working in Ecuador, Jeff brought his 15 years of campaign communications experience to our Energy Development team in July 2011. In his work at the national offices of two of America&rsquos largest labor unions before moving to South America, Jeff ran a communications training program for union members and staff around the country and led communications on a wide range of organizing, issue advocacy, and corporate accountability campaigns. Jeff got his start in communications writing for an independent labor newspaper in St. Paul, Minnesota during college and went on to do organizing on affordable housing in Baltimore before joining the labor movement in the mid-90s, based in Washington, DC. In Ecuador Jeff was inspired by the rainforests, volcanoes, and by the rural communities that are working for a better economic future by working for wilderness conservation. Julie Dixon, Senior Program Director

nullJulie joined Resource Media in 2001, and leads public lands and water conservation efforts in California and the West.  Since establishing the Sacramento office in 2004, she has worked on the State of California&rsquos petition for protecting roadless areas in the state&rsquos 18 national forests as well as wildfire and water reform policy.  A former television producer in Denver, Sacramento and San Francisco, she has been honored with several awards, including the Colorado Broadcaster&rsquos Award for special programming. Eric Frankowski, Associate Director

EricEric leads Resource Media&rsquos Energy Development team, overseeing our work on issues such as coal-fired power, oil and gas drilling, oil shale development, and the transition away from fossil fuels toward cleaner sources of generating electricity. Joining Resource Media in 2006, he led our work with the Western Clean Energy Campaign and its efforts to fight proposals for the construction of new coal-burning power plants in the West. He has more than 10 years of experience working as a journalist in Colorado. Most recently, he served as the city editor for the Longmont Times-Call covering government, science and environmental issues. Amy Frykman, Associate Director

AmyAmy has over ten years of experience helping nonprofits, communities, foundations and mission-minded businesses unlock the power of communications to advance conservation goals. She leads Resource Media&rsquos sustainable land use and agricultural work. She is the lead author of Connect to Values, a comprehensive analysis of land use planning debates in the West, and Reaching Farmers, an investigation into the best ways to communicate with farmers and ranchers. Amy has special expertise in branding and organizational identity development, and has provided communications planning and identity guidance to a range of nonprofits, including the Climate and Land Use Alliance, Tejon Ranch Conservancy, Henry&rsquos Fork Legacy Project, Future West, Oregon Natural Desert Association, Idaho Smart Growth, Conservation Northwest and others. She has extensive experience helping advocates communicate the value of land conservation in politically-difficult terrain. Amy is a skilled strategist and facilitator and is adept at helping disparate interests develop and execute a shared communications strategy. Mark Glyde, Senior Program Director

nullWorking out of our Seattle office, Mark leads projects and provides strategic direction across numerous Resource Media program areas, including public lands and wildlife protection, land use and agriculture, ocean conservation and energy policy. Prior to joining Resource Media in 2005, Mark spent 12 years directing communications and outreach programs for conservation organizations and coalitions. From 1998 to 2002, Mark directed strategic communications and media outreach for the NW Energy Coalition, a four-state regional alliance of utilities and NGOs advocating regional investments in clean energy. During the west coast energy crisis of 2000-01, Mark led a region wide ad campaign to educate consumers about the benefits of home energy efficiency cosponsored by utilities, advocacy groups and the federal Bonneville Power Administration. Belinda Griswold, Program Director

BelindaBelinda provides communications strategy and direction for climate change and public health projects from the Oceans and Public Health team. She particularly enjoys working on campaign strategy and issue analyses. Her recent work includes a comprehensive framing analysis of climate change and water in the American West. Belinda is a former political reporter and editor, and a communications director with 10 years experience on electoral and grassroots campaigns. She is also a licensed attorney and mediator in both California and Washington. Belinda holds a bachelor&rsquos degree in International Political Economy from the University of California, Berkeley and a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law. Antinette Jackson, Finance Director

nullHelping to support our internal functions, Antinette joined our staff as our Finance Director, providing guidance and leadership in the areas of accounting, human resources, office administration and facilities management. With an MBA from University of Southern California, Antinette has over 10 years of experience in finance and accounting, in a range of operating environments. Most recently, she worked as a consultant delivering professional services in the areas of accounting, financial reporting, and audit preparation to Bay area nonprofits.  Eric Jaffe, Senior Program Director

nullEric brings his extensive experience in advocacy communications to assist Resource Media&rsquos sustainable agriculture and land use work. Eric is an 18-year veteran of strategic communications and campaign management at the federal, state and local levels. He most recently ran Jaffe Public Strategies, a communications and public affairs shop in the San Francisco area. He has managed political and public affairs efforts for three prominent California communications agencies and has advised and helped elect officials at every level of government. Eric directed communications for a successful landmark ballot initiative in Washington State that raised the state&rsquos cigarette tax to the highest in the nation in order to protect children from tobacco and expand health services for low-income residents. He&rsquos worked on Capitol Hill &ndash in a House leadership office and rank-and-file member&rsquos office &ndash and in a Governor&rsquos office as a legislative liaison to Congress and The White House. Eric is a creative strategist and skilled tactician with broad experience in campaign research, analysis, research-informed strategic planning and message development. Ken Jones, Chief Operating Officer

nullServing as Resource Media&rsquos COO, Ken oversees our finance and accounting operations, human resources administration and information technology team. Ken prepares our annual operating budget and provides regular updates to the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors.  He also oversees our annual financial audit and preparation of the organization&rsquos tax return.  Prior to joining Resource Media, Ken was the Director of Finance and Administration at the Stuart Foundation, a family foundation focused on public education and child welfare in San Francisco.  Ken has also held senior management positions at Community Gatepath, the San Francisco Zoo and the Brookfield Zoo. Erin Laetz, Program Coordinator

nullErin is a Program Coordinator supporting both the Energy Solutions and Energy Development teams.  She assists each team in drafting media materials and analyzing media coverage.  Before coming to Resource Media, she worked at the Colorado Governor&rsquos Energy Office where she managed communications for a residential energy efficiency program. Erin also has several years of advertising experience having worked at Carat, in Boston.  There she helped clients develop strategic online advertising campaigns and was involved in both the planning and buying of online media.  Erin works in the San Francisco office and can be reached at, (415) 397-0500 ext 309.

Nicole Lampe, Digital Strategy Director

NicoleNicole heads Resource Media&rsquos digital team, providing high level strategy, capacity-building training, and hands-on execution help for clients looking to grow the reach and impact of their campaigns. She is fluent in social media, but old school in her approach to communications. She counsels discipline around goal setting, audience targeting and measurement to help streamline the care and feeding of multiple channels. In addition to planning and execution, Nicole helps clients evaluate the effectiveness of online outreach so they can refine messages and tactics in real time. She has worked in nonprofit communications for nine years, managing public affairs for the Trust for Public Land&rsquos western regional office before coming to Resource Media. Nicole&rsquos experience with print and broadcast media enables her to design integrated communications programs that build awareness and engagement. Before stepping into her current role, Nicole managed Resource Media&rsquos marine conservation work in California, developing an online network that includes dozens of nonprofit organizations, 60,000 public supporters, and more than twenty top reporters. John Lamson, Interim President

nullJohn is a seasoned communications strategist with 18 years of experience in the political, advocacy, and higher education arenas.  Most recently at Cornell, where for the last four years he served as Assistant Dean and managed all communications activities for one of the university&rsquos four land grant institutions, including strategic planning, speechwriting, media relations, publications and multimedia. Prior to joining Cornell in 2006, John spent 10 years as vice president and partner at MacWilliams, Robinson and Partners, a leading strategy and advertising consultancy working with candidates and nonprofit advocacy organizations at the local, national and global levels. John has earned national recognition and awards from communications industry peers for press strategy and copywriting as well as his role in the production of dozens of radio and television ads. After earning a BA in English from the University of Notre Dame, John got his start at Fenton Communications and served as press secretary on political campaigns in the Pacific Northwest. Cat Lazaroff, Associate Director

nullCat joined Resource Media as our first Washington, D.C. staffer in April 2011. As an Associate Director for our climate and energy portfolio, Cat focuses on work that supports state, regional and national clean energy and climate policy initiatives. Cat has over twelve years of communication and writing experience, previously serving as the Policy Press Secretary at Earthjustice and most recently as the Communications Director at Defenders of Wildlife, where she led a team focused on strategically supporting the organization&rsquos wildlife conservation mission through both new and traditional media channels. Cat also has worked as a science writer and environmental reporter, including serving as the D.C. Bureau Chief for the Environment News Service, where she covered issues ranging from air and water quality to land conservation and public health. Ben Long, Senior Program Director

Ben LongBen opened Resource Media&rsquos first field office in Kalispell, Montana, in 2001 and now works on conservation issues in the West and nationwide. Before joining Resource Media, Ben worked as a newspaper journalist, magazine contributor, book author and conservationist in Idaho and Montana. For 10 years he has helped advance ballot initiatives and grassroots campaigns to conserve the water, wildlife and beauty of the northern Rockies for people to enjoy. Jordon McEntire, Development Manager

nullJordon supports all of Resource Media's fundraising efforts. Prior to Resource Media, Jordon was the development manager for the Seattle-based, environmental non-profit ECOSS where he doubled the organization&rsquos budget. As a member of the development team, Jordon prepares grant proposals and reports, manages the annual calendar of development activities, identifies prospective funders and partners, and drafts fundraising materials such as case studies and other tools to market Resource Media&rsquos programs. Brendan McLaughlin, Program Director

nullBrendan has over five years of professional communications experience and leads Resource Media&rsquos biofuels work. He provides ongoing strategic communications consulting and media outreach services for a coalition of environmental, agricultural, and social organizations working to reform federal biofuels policies, and is working with advocates seeking to establish a clean fuel standard in the northeast and mid-Atlantic region. Through partnerships with leading scientists, Brendan works to publicize the environmental impacts of polluted runoff from farms and urban areas. He has conducted detailed media audits and analyses on issues ranging from land use policy in the western United States to international climate policy and deforestation. In 2010, Brendan developed a communications plan for an emerging funding collaborative focused on land conversion in developing countries. He is part of the media team striving to create a network of underwater parks along the coast of California through the Marine Life Protection Act. Krista Meyer, Executive Assistant

Krista is our newest San Francisco transplant, coming to us from the Seattle office. With a degree in communications from the University of Washington and over 12 years of project management experience, she&rsquos primed for the ultimate challenge- managing the President's desk. She also provides support to a number of projects throughout the organization, from office relocation to program work. She&rsquos worked in publishing, higher education and sales and finds that her &ldquoJill of All Trades&rdquo skillset comes in handy in the non-profit sector. Gaelen O'Connell, Digital Media Manager

GaelenGaelen manages SEO and social media projects for our partners. She uses the latest tools and technology to monitor what&rsquos trending, who the biggest influencers are and where the opportunities lie. She has more than seven years of marketing, PR and social media experience. Prior to Resource Media, Gaelen spearheaded customer advocacy, social media and PR initiatives at a rapidly growing high tech start-up. Debbie Slobe, Senior Program Director

Debbie SlobeDebbie Slobe leads Resource Media&rsquos energy efficiency program, working with our partners to help build support for policies and programs aimed at eliminating energy waste and improving energy performance across all areas from buildings to the power grid. In her 17 years in the communications field, Debbie has worked in nearly every area of the industry, including film and radio production, website development and writing and editing for print and online publications. Debbie is also the proud owner of a net-zero home and electric car that both run on solar energy. Prior to joining Resource Media, she was the communications director for the Playa Lakes Joint Venture, a regional partnership of state and federal agencies, private companies and conservation groups working to conserve wildlife habitat in the Southern High Plains. Penelope Whitney, Program Director

nullAs a Program Director, Penelope provides communications strategy, training and media outreach. Through partnerships with leading scientists and NGOs, she publicizes the environmental and public health effects of our agricultural policies and practices, resulting in headlines in the Economist, Washington Post and topfood/ag and biofuels blogs.  And she&rsquos developed the online newsroom Nitrogen News and @nitrogencycle to raise awareness of nitrogen pollution's risks and solutions. In Idaho, she works with the USGBC and other advocates to make a case for improved public transportation and green building practices.  Penelope has extensive experience promoting strategic communications for social change nonprofits, environmental groups and unions, with expertise in writing and editing, web site development and video production. Phillip Yates, Project Manager

PhilPhillip is the project manager in our San Francisco office, and he works full time for the Energy Development team.
